Christmas in the City

🎄✨ Christmas in the City 2025: A Day Full of Magic in Webster City ✨🎄

There’s something truly special about the way Webster City celebrates Christmas—and this year’s Christmas in the City event on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, is shaping up to be one of the most festive and joy-filled days of the season. From early-morning fun to evening lights and music, the day is packed with activities for families, friends, and neighbors of all ages.

Here’s a look at the magic that unfolded throughout our community:

Morning Festivities: Start the Day with Cheer

The day kicked off bright and early with the Ugly Sweater Bootcamp at SNAP Fitness, where participants warmed up in true holiday spirit—extra points for the ugliest sweater! From there, families headed to Breakfast with Santa at Hy-Vee, filling bellies and hearts as little ones shared their Christmas wishes.

Meanwhile, Empower Nutrition brought the laughs with a visit from The Grinch, reminding everyone not to let the holiday stress steal their joy. Then The Cat Hut offered beautiful Holiday Henna, giving visitors a creative way to show off their seasonal flair.

The morning continued with the beloved Jane Young House Festival of Trees, a tradition that transforms the historic home into a glowing wonderland of lights, ornaments, and nostalgia.

🎨 Creative Holiday Magic

Art and imagination took center stage throughout the day courtesy of Legacy Learning Art Studio. Kids and adults alike crafted:

  • Sock Gnomes
  • Handmade Holiday Cards
  • Mosaic Ornaments

With a mix of free-will donations and low-cost activities, these hands-on experiences made it easy for families to enjoy affordable holiday fun.

🎅 Wilson Brewer Park: A Winter Wonderland

From noon to 2 PM, Wilson Brewer Park came alive with festive energy. Visitors enjoyed:

  • Photos with Santa in the historic log cabin
  • Kids’ crafts hosted by Hamilton County Development
  • Cookies and hot chocolate generously sponsored by ICCC

It was a cozy, heartwarming stop that offered a perfect blend of history and holiday spirit.

🍭 Afternoon Adventures & Sweet Treats

Later in the day, families joined the much-loved Candy Cane Hike at Briggs Woods Park—an outdoor adventure mixing fresh winter air with treats hidden along the trail.

Back downtown, the Webster Theater hosted a showing of Daddy’s Home 2, giving families a chance to warm up, relax, and enjoy a festive film.

And the scent of cinnamon rolls and chili filled the air at the American Legion, offering a comforting meal to support community programs.

🎆 Evening Events: Lights, Music & Celebration

As twilight arrived, the city gathered for one of the most anticipated moments of the season: the Karl L. Lighted Christmas Parade. Floats, lights, music, and holiday joy streamed through downtown, bringing smiles to every corner of Second Street.

 The celebration continues with:

  • A Live Nativity at First Congregational Church
  • Live music by Jake McVey at Wildcat Distilling Co.
  • The Webster City Community Chorus Concert at Trinity Lutheran Church

Each event adds a unique and meaningful touch to the night, reminding everyone of the heart behind the holiday season—community, unity, and hope.

❤️ A Day That Brings Us Together

Christmas in the City isn’t just an event—it’s a tradition that reflects the heart of Webster City. It’s a day when businesses, churches, organizations, volunteers, and families come together to create an unforgettable experience.
