Breaking the Stigma: A Christian Conversation on Mental Health

Renewed Spirits and Heart Ministry Launches Christian Counseling in Webster City

A new Christian counseling ministry is launching in Webster City, offering hope, healing, and help for those navigating life’s challenges. Renewed Spirits and Heart Ministry, led by Wendi Richardson, brings faith-based counseling to the community through a compassionate, Christ-centered approach.

Wendi’s counseling office is located on the second floor of the church building at Webster City Church of Christ. Her services focus on mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, available to anyone seeking support.

In addition to one-on-one counseling, Wendi will host a series of free monthly mental health classes, open to the public. These events will be held on the Third Tuesday of each month, and include a light supper served before each session.

Upcoming Class Topics:

  • Month 1: Breaking the Stigma – A Christian Conversation on Mental Health
Learn how stigma affects those struggling and how faith communities can respond with compassion and support.

  • Month 2: What Mental Illness Really Looks Like – Understanding Addiction and More
Explore how mental illness and addiction manifest, and how we can care for those affected.

  • Month 3: Suicide Awareness – Finding Hope in the Midst of Darkness
Discuss warning signs, prevention strategies, and faith-based resources for those struggling or supporting others.

“These classes are a chance to bring mental health into the light, to let people know they are not alone,” said Wendi Richardson. “Renewed Spirits and Heart Ministry is about walking alongside others with truth, hope, and grace.”

All are welcome to attend, regardless of church affiliation.
