Responsible for cleaning and servicing the internal premises to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition, in an assigned location and / or an assigned time period.
Essential functions:
- Maintains Confidentiality of all hospital matters.
- Completes all required Competencies.
- Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
- Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical i.e. vacuums, mops, floor sweeper.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing/wiping furniture, fixtures, and equipment with a germicidal cleaning solution.
- Cleans assigned areas by wiping down all glass surfaces, and by washing wall, doors, vents, TV’s and windows with the appropriate cleaning solution.
- Dry and wet mops hard surface floors, vacuums carpets, spot cleans carpets using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture, equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning.
- Cleans all equipment and notifies manager of equipment needing repair. Reports all safety hazards to manager.
- Cleans operating rooms using proper disinfecting solutions and as per departmental procedures.
- Collects all general and infectious waste as established by the Infection Control Committee. Transports all waste to appropriate areas for disposal.
- Moves furniture inside the hospital for purposed of cleaning behind or underneath.
- Collects soiled linens from and distributes clean linen to all assigned areas of the hospital.
- Follows all Infection Control, Safety, and General Hospital Policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Day shift, 26 hours per week. Wage commensurate with experience.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements as outlined in the Job requirements document.
Previous housekeeping experience preferred. Housekeeper works closely with patients, families, peers, managers, and other hospital team members.
