Clinic Radiology Technologist

The main purpose of a Clinic Radiologic Technologist is to produce the best quality radiographs and Mammographic images on a patient of any age (or age appropriate), in a very caring and timely manner in a Clinic setting. 

  • Performs radiologic procedures independently.
  • Operates DR reader for processing x-ray images independently.
  • Operates all radiation emitting x-ray equipment independently (rad room, mammography equipment and bone densitometry) utilizing appropriate technique factors based on the patient’s age, size, and body habitus.
  • Completes all required competencies in the time allowed.
  • Answers telephone calls and utilizes the phone system and all computer and software systems proficiently.
  • Always follows the necessary patient identification procedures to ensure the “correct patient, correct procedure, correct date” is ensured.
  • Follows all radiation protection procedures per policy.
  • Must be able to communicate to patients in written and verbal form in order to properly explain procedures as well as gather pertinent information prior to performing certain procedures.
  • Shares responsibility for completing various QC and other departmental tasks with other staff technologists
  • Supervises radiography students in the performance of departmental functions.
  • Performs mammography examinations independently, if applicable, to level of training and responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Wage commensurate with experience.

 

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited Radiography Program (JRCERT or equivalent)
  • Current Iowa Permit to Practice Radiography
  • Current ARRT registration in Radiography and Mammography
  • Current CPR certification
  •  
  • **All permits, registrations and certifications must be kept current and documentation must be given to the Radiology Manager prior to the expiration of any of these documents.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements as outlined in the Job Requirements document.

    This position requires successful completion of a Physical Capacity Profile screening.
