Children's Weekly Programs
LEGO Build (Children’s Department) – Each Monday from 3:30-4:30PM throughout May there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills. Each week will have a building theme or you can use your imagination for your creation! We have a variety of Legos, so the possibilities are endless. Bring a friend and get building!
Wild Things (TK-2nd) will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45PM in May. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.
Fuzzy Ducklings (Under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in May. This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.
Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year Preschool) will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in May. This is a fun and interactive story time!
Tween’s Time (3rd – 5th grade) will meet on Thursdays from 3:45-4:45PM in May. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.
Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books – Drop in at the Children’s Department on Fridays (May 1st, 8th, 15th, 7 22nd) between 3:30-4:30PM for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event.
Drop-In Saturdays – Kids and families are invited to “Drop-In” to enjoy a time to get creative! Each Saturday in the Children’s Department there will be a come-and-go activity available from 10:00AM-4:00PM.

TEEN PROGRAMS
Teen Lounge – Patrons in 6th-12th grade are invited Tuesdays in May from 3:30-5:00PM. Teen Lounge will be happening May 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. As a special event, Tuesday, May 19th, current 5th graders are invited to join the Teens for an afternoon of Bingo. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more! This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event.
Homeschool TECH BUILD - Students will have time to Pick your project. On Thursday, May 21st from 1:00-3:00PM patrons will have the opportunity to build a project you may have missed throughout the year. A variety of kits will be available to build and create. This is designed for youth 2nd-12th grade and will be held each month in the Teen Area. Parent participation is encouraged.
As always, every day the Teen area located in the Kendall Young Library offers a variety of crafts, board games, community Lego build, Chromebooks, video games, books, and STEM Cart activities that are always available. Stop in for the fun!
FAMILY SUMMER KICK-OFF PARTY – Kendall Young Library will be celebrating the coming of summer with a Family Summer Kickoff Party on the lawn! Sunday, May 31st from 4:30-6:30pm we will gather for live music and food! This fun family event will offer games, face painting, and a balloon artist. Bring your lawn chair and the whole family for this great event. This event is sponsored by Fareway Meat & Grocery.
Plant a Seed, Read will be the theme for Summer 2026 and will begin on June 1st. Watch for programs, activities, and events for all ages as the summer kicks off!
