KYL - Children's and Teen Programming - March 2026



Special March Programming Note

Due to Early Outs (March 3rd & 5th) and Spring Break (March 9th-13th), please note that regular scheduled programs are modified.

Early Out Movies – Patrons ages 8 years thru 12th grade are invited to relax and watch a movie on Tuesday, March 3rd and Thursday, March 5th beginning at 1:30pm in the Teen Area.  Tuesdays movie will be Elio(1Hr 39 Minutes) and Thursdays movie is The Fantastic 4 – First Steps (1Hr 55 Minutes). Bring a friend and popcorn will be provided!

Children's Events

LEGO Build (Children’s Department) – Each Monday from 3:30-4:30PM throughout March there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills.  Each week will have a building theme or you can use your imagination for your creation! We have a variety of Legos, so the possibilities are endless.  Bring a friend and get building!

Tales Around the Town – Kendall Young Library invites patrons to a Family Storytime each Monday Evening from 5:00PM-6:00PM.  Each week in March will be held at Kendall Young Library with special activities and family experiences. March is full of excitement as we get messy with some projects.  No registration required.  Just follow the signs for the fun!

Mar. 2nd – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Animal Footprint Painting

Mar. 16th – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Chalk Painting

Mar. 23rd – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Truck and Tractor Painting

Mar. 30th – McDonalds* (400 Fair Meadow Drive) – Storytime With Miss Doreen -6:00PM

*Friends of Kendall Young Library will be holding a fundraiser at McDonalds from 5:00-7:00PM.

Wild Things (TK-2nd) will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45PM in March. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.

Fuzzy Ducklings (Under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in March.  This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.

Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year Preschool) will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in March.  This is a fun and interactive story time!

Tween’s Time (3rd – 5th grade) will meet on Thursdays from 3:45-5:00PM in March. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.

Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books – Drop in at the Children’s Department on Fridays (March 20 & 27) between 3:30-4:30PM for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event.

Drop-In Saturdays – Kids and families are invited to “Drop-In” to enjoy a time to get creative!  Each Saturday in the Children’s Department there will be a come-and-go activity available from 10:00AM-4:00PM.

Mar. 28th – Sticker Fun

TEEN EVENTS

Spring Break Crafternoons – During the week of Spring Break in Webster City, March 9th-13th, patrons are invited to stop in and relax with some crafting.  Spring Break Crafternoons will be available all week, all day on your schedule.  Stop in for some mini diamond painting, clay snowmen building, or just some comfy coloring.

Teen Lounge – Patrons in 6th-12th grade are invited Tuesdays in March from 3:30-5:00PM. Due to early outs and spring break, Teen Lounge will be happening March 17, 24th, and 31st.

Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more!  This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event. 

Homeschool TECH BUILD - Students will have time to Geared Flag Waver. On Thursday, March 19th from 1:00-3:00PM patrons will you the opportunity to build and personalize their contraption using supplies from the STEM Cart. This is designed for youth 2nd-12th grade and will be held each month in the Teen Area. Parent participation is encouraged.

As always, every day the Teen area located in the Kendall Young Library offers a variety of crafts, board games, community Lego build, Chromebooks, video games, books, and STEM Cart activities that are always available.  Stop in for the fun!
