KYL - Children's and Teen Programming - February 2026



LEGO Build (Children’s Department) – Each Monday from 3:30-4:30PM throughout February there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills.  Each week will have a building theme or you can use your imagination for your creation! We have a variety of Legos, so the possibilities are endless.  Bring a friend and get building!

Tales Around the Town – Kendall Young Library invites patrons to a Family Storytime each Monday Evening from 5:00PM-6:00PM.  Along with local Webster City businesses will be taking storytime on the road.  The first event of each month will be at a designated location, hear a story and experience the host location!  The following weeks will be held at Kendall Young Library with special activities and family experiences. February is full of excitement as we visit a new place and get messy with some projects.  No registration required.  Just follow the signs for the fun!

Feb. 2nd – The Cat Hut (1118 2nd Street)

Feb. 9th – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Handprint Card

Feb. 16th – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Love Potion Sensory Bin

Feb. 23rd – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – Heart Wand

Wild Things (TK-2nd) will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:45PM in February. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.

Fuzzy Ducklings (Under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in February.  This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.

Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year Preschool) will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in February.  This is a fun and interactive story time!

Tween’s Time (3rd – 5th grade) will meet on Thursdays from 3:45-5:00PM in February. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.

Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books – Drop in at the Children’s Department on Fridays (February 6, 13, 20, & 27) between 3:30-4:30PM for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event.

Drop-In Saturdays – Kids and families are invited to “Drop-In” to enjoy a time to get creative!  Each Saturday in the Children’s Department there will be a come-and-go activity available from 10:00AM-4:00PM.

Feb. 14th – Watercolor Valentine’s Day Cards

Feb. 21st – Magnetic Love Notes

Feb. 28th – Sticker Fun





Teen Lounge – Patrons in 6th-12th grade are invited each Tuesday in February from 3:30-5:00PM. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more!  This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event. 

Homeschool TECH BUILD - Students will have time to Engineer Your Imagination. On Thursday, February 19th from 1:00-3:00PM patrons will you the opportunity to free build using supplies from the STEM Cart.  A variety of kits will be available to get you started as needed. This is designed for youth 2nd-12th grade and will be held each month in the Teen Area. Parent participation is encouraged.

As always, every day the Teen area located in the Kendall Young Library offers a variety of crafts, board games, community Lego build, Chromebooks, video games, books, and STEM Cart activities that are always available.  Stop in for the fun!
