KYL Children's Department
Tales Around the Town – Kendall Young Library along with local Webster City businesses will be taking storytime on the road. Each week families are invited to meet at a designated location, hear a story and experience the host location! October is full of excitement as we visit new places. No registration required. Just follow the signs for the fun!
Oct. 6th – West Twin Park (1100Superior Street) – 5:30PM
Oct. 13th – Kendall Young Park (600 Kendall Young Road) – 5:30PM
Oct. 20th – The Cat Hut (1118 2nd Street) – 5:30PM
Oct. 27th – Kendall Young Library (1201 Willson Ave.) – 5:30PM
Wild Things (TK-2nd) will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45-5:00 PM in October. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.
Fuzzy Ducklings (Under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in October. This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.
Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year Preschool) will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:30AM in October. This is a fun and interactive story time!
Tween’s Time (3rd – 5th grade) will meet on Thursdays from 3:45-5:00PM in October. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.
Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books – Drop in at the Children’s Department on Fridays (October 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st) between 3:30-5:00PM for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event and plan to wear your costume on the 31st!
Early Out Movies – Kids of all ages are invited to enjoy a movie at KYL on Tuesday, Oct. 28th and Thursday Oct. 30th at 1:30PM. These days have an early release at Webster City Community Schools. Popcorn will be provided.
KYL Teens
Teen Lounge – Patrons in 6th-12th grade are invited each Tuesday in October from 3:30-5:00PM. Join us weekly for special activities, video games, snacks, crafts, board games, and more! This time and place is perfect to hang out with friends and is a come-and-go style event.
Homeschool TECH BUILD - Students will have time to work on a Wiggle Bot on Thursday, October 16th from 1:00-3:00PM where they can build and modify their project. This is designed for youth 3rd-12th grade and will be held each month in the Teen Area. Parent participation is encouraged.

As always, every day the Teen area located in the Kendall Young Library offers a variety of crafts, board games, community Lego build, Chromebooks, video games, books, and STEM Cart activities that are always available. Stop in for the fun!
