Kendall Young Library is seeking an energetic, flexible, and courteous individual to join its Circulation Services team and provide front-line service to the Webster City community. This position primarily works at the Adult Checkout Desk, assisting patrons with checking materials in and out, registering and updating library accounts, managing holds, answering phones, and responding to general questions. The role also includes assisting with programming, maintaining an organized and welcoming library environment, and supporting daily operations such as opening, closing, and special events.
Shelving duties include accurately organizing and maintaining library materials, checking for damage, preparing carts, emptying the book drop, and ensuring shelves and public spaces remain neat and orderly.
Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong customer service and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to work effectively with the public. Library experience is helpful but not required. The position requires physical activity such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Spanish language skills are a plus.
