Cruisin’ Through Classic Car Night: A Celebration of Community, Chrome, and Iowa Charm
Cruisin’ Through Classic Car Night: A Celebration of Community, Chrome, and Iowa Charm
What a night in downtown Webster City!
The skies stayed clear just long enough for another incredible Classic Car Night at Webster City Market Nights, presented by American Sanitation, and what a night it was! With the sweet hum of engines, the smell of Coney dogs in the air, and the sparkle of chrome reflecting the heart of downtown Webster City came alive in the best way.
Locals and visitors alike strolled through vintage rides lined along the streets — from rumbling muscle cars to carefully restored classics — each vehicle a labor of love and a story waiting to be told. The blend of history, horsepower, and small-town pride created a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
A huge thank you goes out to the Classic Car owners who showed up and showed off. These cars aren’t just machines — they’re a reflection of craftsmanship, time, and deep passion. And of course, hats off to the many families and friends who came down to cheer them on, enjoy supper, and celebrate another beautiful Iowa evening.
This month’s winners were:
-
Community Choice Award: Joel Anderson and his striking 1972 Chevrolet Nova
-
Karl Webster City Trophy: Vic Zorn with a timeless 1931 Model A
-
Envision Stanhope “Once in a Melon” Award, presented by Polly Hayes: The bold and unique 1993 Indianapolis Pace Truck owned by Kenyon Henrichs
One especially tasty highlight? Donna Ryder, affectionately known as “Grama,” brought local flavor and history together by dishing up a Webster City favorite — the iconic Bash’s Coney Dog. As she told the Daily Freeman Journal, “I am making the original Bash’s coney dog,” clearly proud to be reviving a community classic. Nostalgia never tasted so good!
Whether you were there for the food (shoutout to Bash’s Coney Dogs and the American Legion grill), the shopping (thank you to all our local vendors!), or the music echoing through the avenue, it was a heat-filled evening of community joy, sweet nostalgia, and summer smiles.
We are especially grateful to Karl Webster City for sponsoring Classic Car Night and continuing to support the events that bring our community together.
Shout out to the volunteers last night that helped make Classic Car Nights a success!
